Our Story

HiFund is an innovative investment vehicle based in Haifa, Israel, backed by experts in technology investments, delivers varied capital-raising solutions, driving investor value domestically and internationally, while catalyzing Haifa’s tech-driven entrepreneurial landscape.

As part of HiCenter Ventures Group, a municipal company connecting the city’s infrastructure to promote startups as the growth engine of the city, HiFund serves as a platform for capital raising, particularly for technology-based companies.

Striving to create the optimal connection between investors and innovative technological ventures, HiFund endeavors to generate growth engines for the economy of Haifa and promote the technological entrepreneurship industry within it.

HiFund’s activity  complements HiCenter Ventures’ mission, a business and technological entrepreneurship center operating in Haifa for over than 14 years. HiCenter Ventures provides start-up companies with business assistance, fundraising support, and direct incentives through programs like IN-VENTech. Since its inception in August 2020, HiCenter Ventures has facilitated the admission of 86 companies and assisted in raising over 500 million shekels through private investments and grants within the HiCenter framework.

The expertise and experience of the HiFund’s team, alongside the capabilities of HiCenter Ventures Group, enable a strategic approach to venture capital investments, fostering success for companies and investors alike.

HiCenter Ventures is fully owned by the Economic Company of Haifa Ltd, which is wholly owned by the Haifa Municipality.

We have launched the Angel Investors Training Course in collaboration with the Technion Knowledge Center for Innovation, based in Haifa. Amid the daily news of substantial funding rounds and successful exits in the Israeli high-tech industry, many failures go unnoticed. Our course addresses this gap by offering expert insights from leading angels and academics. They equip participants with practical and theoretical knowledge, significantly boosting their investment acumen and increasing their chances of success in this competitive field.

Individual Accreditation

  1. Liquid Assets: You own liquid assets (including stocks, bonds, mutual investment funds, and ‘kranot hishtalmut’) worth over NIS 9,411,809.
  2. Annual Income: Your annual income for each of the previous two years exceeds NIS 1,411,772.
  3. Liquid Assets and Annual Income: You own liquid assets worth in total more than NIS 5,882,380, and your annual income for each of the previous two years is at least NIS 705,885.

Joint Accreditation with Spouse

  1. Joint Annual Income: Your joint annual income for each of the previous two years is over NIS 2,117,657.
  2. Liquid Assets and Joint Annual Income: You own liquid assets worth in total more than NIS 5,882,380, and your joint annual income for each of the previous two years exceeds NIS 1,058,827

Corporate Accreditation

1. Equity Requirement: The investor is an entity with equity exceeding NIS 50,000,000 (excluding entities formed solely for purchasing securities in a specific offering).

2. Qualified Investor Ownership: The investor is an entity fully owned by entities and/or individuals who meet the Qualified Investor criteria specified in Art. 15A(b)(1) and Schedule 1 of the Securities Law. Each shareholder (individual or entity) must complete Investor Qualification Forms to verify their eligibility.

3. Israeli Entity Classification: The investor is one of the following entities organized under the laws of Israel:

a. Portfolio Manager: A portfolio manager as defined in the Regulation of Investment Advice, Investment Marketing, and Investment Portfolio Management 5755-1995, purchasing for themselves or on behalf of clients who are investors listed in section 15A(b) of the Securities Law.

b. Investment Advisor: An investment advisor as defined in the Regulation of Investment Advice, Investment Marketing, and Investment Portfolio Management 5755-1995, or an investment marketing agent purchasing for themselves.

c. Underwriter: An underwriter satisfying the conditions set forth in Section 56(c) of the Securities Law, purchasing for themselves.

d. Joint Investment Fund: A joint investment fund or its managing company as defined in the Joint Investment Trust Law 5754-1994.

e. Provident Fund: A provident fund or its managing company as defined in the Regulation of Financial Services (Provident funds) Law 5765-2005.

f. Venture Capital Fund: A venture capital fund, which is a corporation primarily engaged in investing in research and development or the manufacturing of innovative and hi-tech products or processes, where the investment risk is higher than customary for other investments.
